What is the difference in velocity of the 3 different soup cans going down a ramp 21cm tall?
For this lab, our research question was "What is the velocity of the 3 different soup cans going down a ramp 21cm tall?" The velocity of each can increased almost in a linear diagonal line for a certain amount of time and then the velocity had a wavy line with most increases and a few decreases. In the 3 graphs for the chicken noodle, tomato, mushroom soup cans, all of them from 0sec- .55sec increased almost at a constant rate as they went down the ramp. At .55sec and after the cans velocity fluctuated as it went further down the ramp. The velocity was almost Similar between the 3 cans as they went down the ramp. The velocity increased for a certain amount because the contents inside was moving at a constant speed. The velocity increases and decreases because the contents of the cans become unbalanced which causes more weigh to be placed on the front and back of each can.
